The Immaculate Conception church in Mijas

The beautiful Church of the Immaculate Conception is set in beautiful gardens, beside the famous bullring at the top of the old part of the village and thus, commanding a prime position with breathtaking views down the mountain to the sea. Inside the church is serenely beautiful, with ornate archways, marble floor, high wooden-beamed ceilings and a peaceful aura which is welcoming to visitors, not to mention the goosebumps you feel when you walk in!! The gold plated altar is nothing short of mesmerising with its detailed carvings, statues and the centrepiece is the Virgin which presides proudly from her place in it's heart. The church can seat up to 200 people, but because of its dimensions, smaller groups of people do not feel at all lost within it.
The peaceful shady gardens with bubbling fountains and scenic backdrop could not be bettered for after-church refreshments, making for a very relaxing day.
